GRAPHCO TECHNOLOGIES, INC. solutions for secure communications
include biometric technology combined with public key infrastructure
(PKI) services to authenticate identity for secure entry to powerful
data management tools and network resources.

Authentication/Identification
Authentication is the process of verifying whether an individual
is who s/he claims to be. To authenticate identity, an individual
typically has had to present a card, badge, password or pin number.
The VoicePass Speaker Recognition system, by contrast,
uses text-independent voice biometric technology to permit an
individual to verify his or her identity by simply saying anything.
VoicePass Speaker Recognition system works by building
and storing an individual's unique voice pattern acquired from
a few phrases the user supplies at the time of enrollment in
the system. A speaker's voice pattern is an imprint of the parameters
of an utterance, capturing the uniqueness specific to an individual's
voice. By comparing a template file to individual's fresh, live
phrases, VoicePass is able to authenticate that a speaker
is who s/he claims to be.
Network
The currently password - protected technology allows users
within well-defined populations to authenticate their identity
in order to access LAN resources in one step.
VoicePass biometric technology facilitates secure entry
single sign-on without the necessity of remembering and updating
passwords. VoicePass Speaker Recognition system authenticates
a user's identity by creating a template of that individual's
voice pattern, and comparing the template to live speech. Because
VoicePass is text-independent, a speaker can say virtually
anything when ready to validate his or her identity to gain access
to network resources.
Once a speaker has accessed the network, he or she can use
secure network services. For example, GRAPHCO TECHNOLOGIES' secure
data center, The Bastille, provides the means for users to create
secure Web-based communication such as Web-email, Web-chat, Web-based
bulletin boards-electronic conferencing between peers that creates
effective and efficient communications to a secure network of
users, with a well-defined set of interests. GRAPHCO TECHNOLOGIES,
INC. issues the keys to this community to authorized users only.
PKI Management
Public key infrastructure (PKI) management involves a collection
of standards, encryption methods, and key management procedures,
based on public key encryption that define digital certificates
or digital I.D.'s for secure transactions and communications
that occur over private networks, and public networks like the
Internet. PKI-based systems provide such functions as authentication,
certification, non-repudiation, and other security services
GRAPHCO TECHNOLOGIES, INC. manages a PKI-compliant certificate
authority server in our Department of Defense - standard secure
facilities-such as the Bastille secure data center-to provide
digital certification. GRAPHCO provides the certification authority
for all digital certificates that we issue to a closed community.
Graphco's digital certificates are compliant with ANSI (American
National Standardization Institute) standards such as X.509.
GRAPHCO TECHNOLOGIES's PKI management services include:

Access Policy Management
GRAPHCO TECHNOLOGIES' PKI management includes an extra layer
of security using biometrics. The VoicePass biometric security,
combined with PKI tools, ported to an E-Commerce engine (Advanced
Logic Systems's AskAlbert.com) and secured by The Bastille database
allows Graphco to announce and to provide a complete solution
for Internet secured transactions with biometric entry to secure
credit cards databases. This powerful combination of technologies
reduces the concern of purchases through the Internet and unauthorized
database entry.
Encryption
Encryption is the combination of algorithms necessary to convert
data into unreadable form. Encryption allows information to travel
securely across public and private networks. It works within
PKI (public-key infrastructure) to ensure the confidentiality
of data. Public key encryption uses two keys, one to encrypt
a message as it's sent across a communication network and another
to decrypt the message once it reaches its destination. GRAPHCO
TECHNOLOGIES uses public key encryption to authenticate communication
parties each time they engage in a data exchange, for example,
when a consumer transmits credit card information on an e-commerce
website.
Instead of password-protected methods, I.D. authentication
through PKI encryption methods can couple with a biometric system
to verify the identity of users. Combined with PKI encryption,
VoicePass Speaker Recognition system eliminates the multiple
levels of authentication currently necessary to carry out consumer
or business-to-business transactions on the Internet or on secure
private communities.
